The method of the face bow

1) A mark makes it write the top of the cusp of the upper jaw model in the bite fork. Never do this in the mouth. It feels shaky, and certain on the model.

2) It adapts a bite fork in the mouth.

3) Mark an anterior reference point.

Next, explain with comparing three cases.

(1) When the face bow of the Slidematic type was operated, under the condition thought nothing.

(2) When the face bow of the Slidematic type was operated to intersect vertically in the median-sadittal-plane.

(3) When a simple type face bow was operated to intersect vertically in the median-sadittal-plane, and, the center of the bow was made to align with the median-sadittal-plane.

First, introduce the photograph of the face and the mouth.

As for (1), an Ear-rod was thrust in the ear, and a clamp was only wrung without thinking about what Slidematic type face bow, too.
Of course it is like this if the position of the ear is wrong.

As for (2), it was adjusted so that the front of the bow might intersect vertically in the median-sadittal-plane by using the face bow which was the same as (1) .

As for (3), it was adjusted so that the front of the bow may intersect vertically in the median-sadittal-plane, and so that the center of the bow might align with the median-sadittal-plane, marking in the center in front of a face bow bow of simple type.

As for the next, it mounted under the condition in the Articulator.

Though it was, it is too small, and it isn't understood in this.

A template (occlusal plane support unit) was put on each Articulator, and it tried to see the inclination of the upper jaw model.

It is understood well that it is seen with this.
(1) is slanted to the right side. And, it is entailed, a median line deviates to the right side, too.
The occlusal plane of (2) is correct. But, a median line deviates to the left side.
(3) is suitable for both the occlusal plane and the median line.
